11 21 14 Gale winds with freezing temperatures have kept the area boats at the dock this week. We FINALLY have a break in the weather with lighter winds and warmer temperatures with both days this weekend looking GREAT!!
The fishing was just a slow pick everywhere we went today and not what we have been finding lately. A few of the guys had three or four keepers each while some struggled.
11 15 14 The weather sounds great for the opening day of the NJ blackfish season tomorrow. It will be great to finally be able to keep lots of the nice blackfish that we have been forced to throw back all fall while watching the NY fleet keep them--in NJ waters!!
11 11 14 Who could complain about three great weather days in a row this time of year Headed back to where we have been fishing and found decent fishing for the guys and gals. Katie Elichko, Sayreville, NJ, was happy taking today's pool with her very first tog on her first fishing trip.
11 09 14 Another nice day on the water with mainly regulars looking to have some action with blackfish. It was not the fishing we had yesterday with the fish not biting as aggressively but the guys were still able to pick at the tog.
The tog bit all day on one drop with everyone taking their limit home and playing catch and release with lots of 5-6 pound fish!!If the porgies seabass fishing is not good then we will tog fish all day!!
The winds will, however, diminish tonight making for a very nice fall weekend on the water. As such, we WILL put in time both days this weekend targeting tog on some of our fall spots before potentially moving on for something else later each day.
We bounced from piece to piece and the guys had okay fishing on each spot with mostly porgies and seabass for the day. Jack Decker, Blairstown, NJ, took the pool with a seabass
